Note: for the liquidation sale, some units might have slight blemishes. All items sold as-is and no returns.
The Americana Sates Series was a mostly never released line of "little sibling" pedals meant to honor some of our favorite State Parks in California. For the liquidation sale, rather than spending time R and D'ing new circuits, we have modernized the Gale circuit and put it in all 4 variants. So, you pick the enclosure and they all sound the same.
The circuit of Anza Borrego is based on our Gale's Germanium op-amp distortion circuit with some useful tweaks and mods.
- Modern SMD PCB
- Soft-touch true bypass switching
- NOS Germanium transistor
- 2 Clipping options on a toggle
Controls
First row of knobs (Northwestern most): Volume and Gain 1
- Volume controls the master volume of the entire circuit. It gets very loud in LED clipping mode
- Gain 1 controls the first gain stage. It interacts with Gain 2
Second row of knobs: Gain 2, Tone, Shape
- Gain 2 controls the second gain stage. It interacts with Gain 1
- Tone controls the frequency of the effect, post distortion. CCW is thin and treble-y, CW is bassy and muffled
- Shape controls the clipping high-shelf (most apparent at low gain settings)
Toggle Switch: Clipping options (differences become more apparent as the gain is higher)
- Schottky diodes for more compression and Germanium-like behavior
- Red LEDS for less compression and more volume
Power
It is critical that you use a high quality, isolated and filtered power supplies with The Americana States Series. Every modern measure was taken to ensure quiet, recording-worthy noise suppression, but low-quality power and power supplies can inject unwanted noise in these effects. Even though we've designed them to play nicely on a daisy chain, we don't recommend it.
Note: some enclosures are slightly blemished and some may come with different silver knobs than pictured.
